PAS staining of the peripheral blood smears were done in 8 cases of lung cancer, 10 cases of gastric cancer, 10 cases of liver cancer, 9 cases of malignant lymphoma and 10 college students as the control group. The following results were obtained.
1. In patients with malignant tumors, especially with malignant lymphoma, the number of segmented neutrophil which contained much PAS-positive material were increased, compared with the healthy students.
2. In patients with malignant tumors, especially with lung cancer and malignant lymphoma, the appearance rate of PAS positive lymphocyte and the score were increased, compared with the healthy students.
